About Us

Blair Black has been working behind the lens for two decades and had the honor of earning her bachelor's degree in photography and filmmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011. After college, Blair worked at a camera and fine art print shop in Richmond, VA for five years. This allowed her to network and gain an exclusive perspective about the photography industry from trusted professionals. During this time she also moonlighted as an apprentice for several photographers. After shooting weddings, family portraits, senior portraits, and editorial press, she re-discovered that her true passion for photography was documenting musicians. Abstract forms of unapologetic, unfiltered and unconventional performing artists.

Growing up in the 90's, Blair would religiously read Spin Magazine, among others, and dreamt of being a featured photographer. Ultimately hoping to tour with legends but accepting that her life commitments had to be minimal to be available for such a career. So far, she has shot for many different musicians, live in concert and promotional/editorial. While at VCU, she was also rewarded a Visual Arts Fellowship grant from Virginia in 2010 and had her artwork displayed in the Virginia Museum of Fine Art during its re-opening ceremony.

After a lifetime of living in VA, she was able to pack up her family and move to New Orleans. With the support of new friends, she gained access at live shows and has been introduced to a vast spectrum of talented musicians.

After 2020 and the pandemic, Blair and family packed up and returned to Richmond, Virginia in summer of 2021 to be close to family again. She looks forward to continuing her success from New Orleans here at home in central Virginia. Humbling herself on this path, she is grateful for every opportunity to combine her love of music and art.
